Consuelo Foundation’s Project HOPE: Haiyan Operations for Protection and Empowerment (2nd Anniversary Report)

The second anniversary report on Consuelo Foundation’s Project HOPE features the organization’s extensive work in its project areas in the Typhoon Haiyan-hit provinces of Leyte, Samar, Western Visayas, Northern Cebu, and Southern Luzon. The report highlights the project’s focus on ensuring the safety and protection of children; helping families regain their stability; promoting economic adequacy; and assisting in the creation of safe, healthy, protective and resilient communities for all. The project is implemented in partnership with organizations on the ground. The first phase of its implementation focuses on the early recovery of communities, while the second phase focuses on their rehabilitation and rebuilding. The report further details the activities under each of the five key components of the project:

  • Emergency assistance;
  • Livelihood and skills training;
  • Infrastructure support;
  • Child protection; and
  • Building resilient communities.
