Family Strengthening (FS)

The Family Strengthening Program empowers families to provide safe, nurturing, loving, and supportive environments for their children.

FS aims to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Families avail of rights-based programs and services. Families have access to and use basic government services.
  • Primary caregivers sufficiently provide for the survival rights and basic needs of their children. With technical vocational and livelihood support from Consuelo and its partners, primary caregivers have employment or business opportunities and the skills to sustain them.
  • Primary caregivers demonstrate skills to uphold children’s rights. Primary caregivers practice self-care, trauma-informed care, and positive parenting as a result of the capacity-building provided by partners.
  • Partner organizations have improved internal systems and services. With more robust internal systems and services, partner organizations can better nurture and support the children, young people, and families in their care.

In addition to supporting direct services to children and youth, we also provide FS partner organizations with holistic capacity building—by conducting technical trainings and enhancing partner resources. Consuelo also contributes to their organizational development, facilitates knowledge transfer, and provides operational support to enhance overall program delivery, expand impact on children and communities, and ensure overall program sustainability.
