Jonathan San Vuong

Acting President & CEO, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer

San fled Vietnam with his family in 1975 after the fall of Saigon and came to Hawaiʿi as a refugee. Although he received an MBA in Vietnam, he put himself through college again while working part-time as a bookkeeper at Catholic Charities and as a busboy at Fisherman's Wharf. In 1986, he became the Finance Director for Catholic Charities, and through his position's functions, he met and worked with Patti Lyons and David Powell (deceased Consuelo Board member). In 1996, he was hired as Chief Financial Officer for Consuelo Foundation. He has been since overseeing the Foundation's finance operations in both Hawaiʿi and the Philippines.

San feels very blessed to be part of the Consuelo family where he is surrounded by caring and talented people, from Board members to staff in both Hawaiʿi and the Philippines, who are all dedicated to the great charitable mission of the Foundation.

San is married to Diep, a high school teacher in Waipahu. Their son, Daniel, works in Tokyo. For many years, San’s hobbies were growing bonsai trees and raising koi fish. As he is now…older, he prefers spending time with family, exercising, and traveling.
