Anne Marie Chanco

Director for Administration

Anne Marie Chanco manages the overall financial, investment, human resource and general administrative operations of the Foundation.  She was a banker by profession for seventeen years prior to her joining the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation. A graduate of a Liberal Arts Course major in Economics from Assumption College, an exclusive Catholic girls’ college in the Philippines, her banking experience was enriched by her work with private Philippine banks as well as with branches of foreign banks in the country. Her areas of banking expertise revolved around treasury, credit and marketing operations.

It was in 1993 when she met Patti J. Lyons, the Founding President and CEO of the Consuelo Foundation, that the opportunity to tread into an entirely different arena called social development strongly presented itself. She was offered a position at the Foundation where she would be able to utilize her banking expertise and at the same time sharpen her understanding of development work. She became part of the pioneer team that began the Foundation's Philippine Branch in 1993.

Aside from the position she holds in the organization, she previously sat in the Boards of three major partner organizations of the Foundation in the Philippines. These are IDEA Philippines, a program for deaf children in Bohol, Child and Family Service Philippines, Inc., which implements a child abuse and juvenile justice program, and the Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation, which operates a dynamic program for street children
