Jeffrey N. Watanabe


Mr. Watanabe is the retired founding partner of Watanabe Ing LLP, a Honolulu-based law firm. He serves on the boards of over a dozen publicly traded and privately held for-profit corporations and was formerly the Chairman of Hawaiian Electric industries, Inc. and is a member of the board of its subsidiary, American Savings Bank. Mr. Watanabe’s many non-profit affiliations have included board directorships with Child & Family Service-Philippines, the Youth Foundation of the Philippines, the Smithsonian Institution National Board, the Hawaii Community Foundation and Punahou School. He has also been privileged to chair the boards of The Nature Conservancy of Hawaii, the Sesame Workshop of New York, the University of Hawaii Foundation and the Blood Bank of Hawaii. He obtained his J.D. from George Washington University Law Center and his B.A. from University of California at Berkeley.
